A New Year Resolution...

Okay, so as you all can see from our blog, we are not the greatest when it comes to actually updating our blog! For our blogging 2012 resolution we would like to update our blog at least once a month. It sounds like a small resolution but if you look at our track record for posting new projects, once a month will be a tremendous leap towards the place we would like to be ONE day with our blog. So wish us luck!
Always,
Rebecca & Deanne

National Scrapbook Day!

My Pink Stamper

Yesterday was such a busy day for me that I decided to make today (Sunday, May 8th) my NSD! As Rebecca mentioned in her previous blog, Robyn aka My Pink Stamper celebrated NSD hosting an all day event filled with challenges and giveaways! So join the fun at http://www.mypinkstanper.com

Alright, here are rules and guidelines for the challenges...

*You may only enter once for each challenge.

*Even though this is National SCRAPBOOK Day, your projects do not need to be limited to layouts. Feel free to make a card, scrapbook page, mixed media, or 3D item for your entry as long as you are in the challenge theme.

*Use what you have! Do your BEST with your own supplies. It will truly be a challenge for all of us that way. :)

*It must be a project that you made SPECIFICALLY for the challenge and not previously. When you are posting it on your blog, please link back to mypinkstamper.com so that your readers will know what challenges you are referring to.

*There will be a new challenge posted every hour but I will not be closing this until Monday night so those who need to participate later still can. However, it is truly a challenge if you try to complete one in the hour.

Yay! I'm so excited!

For this challenge we were asked to make a manly card or scrapbook page using Kraft cardstock. I was looking and looking in my paper stacks and I found my LAST sheet of Kraft paper!! I was thinking two things when I found it, 1. Thank God! So I can participate and 2. I need to go buy more! :/ I decided to do another scrapbook page because well I just need to do as many as I can and today is the perfect day for that! It's a page for my son's scrapbook..I can't wait to add pictures!:) On to the next challenge...

My Pink Stamper Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge!

My Pink Stamper had her monthly Pinkalicious Blog Hop last Friday and I am so happy I was able to participate in the challenge! This is my first Pinkalicious Challenge I have been able to participate in and I am very pleased with my cute little card!

The Theme was "anything birthday"...

I used my Gypsy this last weekend to create this shape card. I am so thankful that the gypsy is portable, it really helped the 2 hr. drive go by a little bit faster!:)

I used the "Smiley Cards" cartridge that comes pre-loaded onto the Gypsy, I love love love the "Smiley Cards" cartridge and have been using it alot lately. I did use the hide contour button and hid the smiley face and added the 11. Here it is hope you like it!....

p.s... If you click on it and enlarge the picture you can see the paper I used it has a bit of glitter, I didn't get a great picture and I think it looks way better in person! oh well :)

Finally a card in April!! (Throwback Thursday)

So me and the Bestie, Deanne, have noticed that we are really slacking on posting new cards and pages we make on to our blog, so we are hoping (fingers crossed) that we can kick it up a notch!! We have maybe 1 or 2 for each month since we have started our blog and it's a little emabarrassing! lol To all the mommy's out there that post several cards a week and still take care of your family, you inspire us for sure!!

So last night I decided to join in on Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge that was posted about a week ago on her blog, www.creativetimeforme.com. It was a cricut-less challenge and for me it was a bit of a challenge because I don't own any cute stamps to color in. I did find this flower and decided to stamp it on the card. It's not a favorite of mine but here it is....

Birthday Card!

It's been a while since I've blogged, but just to catch you up on the happenings around here... My youngest daughter Alexandria was born on December 9th of 2010! The past couple of months we've been adjusting and truly enjoying having her here! Her big brother Roman, and big sister Miya, have welcomed her with open arms are amazing with her. They are big helpers! Things are super busy and with Spring in the air, I can imagine things will continue to get even busier! My husband's amazing and I couldn't do it without him! He's very supportive, even when it comes to my crafting time. :)
As most of you can relate, I am way behind on scrapbooking. But, I have big goals to scrap away and to make as many cards as I can this year. I have continued to follow blogs and check in on them ever now and then. I am planning on participating in more blog hops and challenges, so stay tuned for that. I love seeing what others create and being inspired by their creations! I hope Rebecca and I will be able to get together to scrap and make cards soon.
Here's what I made this week. I hope to have more to share soon!

I am so excited about this card! I found this great, step by step tutorial at http://www.michellesrubberroom.com. I have been wanting to make a "swing card" for some time now and I just hadn't decided what to do with it. I'm still experimenting with it, but I think my first one turned out pretty good. My mother-in-law's birthday is this weekend, so this one's for her!

*Recipe

5x7 olive green Cardstock (DCWV)
brown mat Textured Paper (from Target)
{foot longs} "happy birthday" clear stamp
Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin' Up
yellow and green flower brads from Michael's

My Creative Time, Throw Back Thursday Challenge

With this Throw Back Thursday Challenge you needed to use the "Walk in my Garden" cartridge and to use flowers. I don't have that cartridge:( but I did incorporate flowers! I used my new cartridge (christmas present from the Bestie) "Forever Young". I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cartridge and can't wait to use it more in the future! My camera is broken so I had to take this on my phone, it's a little blurry..
